I’m leaving tomorrow to spend six weeks traveling around Europe with Mohsen Namjoo. I’m incredibly grateful and excited to get to travel and make music with Mohsen as well as my good friends and bandmates James Riotto and Rob Shelton. Look for us in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Koln, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Toronto, Hamburg, Lausanne, and Milan.
Well it’s that time of year again and I couldn’t me more excited to return to the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA. Four days of music, fun and sunshine amongst the Sierra Nevada mountains, it really doesn’t get much than this.
I will be playing on Saturday with Lebo (of ALO) and friends paying tribute to the prolific NYC one stop shop for the song writing business that was the Brill Building. Many of the most cherished songs in popular music between the 1940′s-1960′s originated here with their massive team of writers and artists like James Taylor, Carol King, Phil Spector, Lieber and Stoller, and many others. We will be picking some favorite classics and spinning them on their head in true High Sierra fashion.
On Sunday I will be backing up an all star lineup of HSMF featured guitarists, celebrating the 10th anniversary of “the end of the world through guitar” with GUITARMAGGEDON. This year’s theme is Stadium Rock. Bring your earplugs!!
I am very excited to share that mid-May I will be heading east to Europe with Kacey Johansing and the band for a three week tour. We will headlining shows as well as playing a handful of support sets for the popular Scandinavian indie folk duo Kings of Convenience as well as Deerhoof’s Chris Cohen.

One can not fully embrace the Return of the Hog without understanding the Land of the Mole. Located in a far away snowy wonderland, just a few hours south of the Canadian border, the Land of the Mole was a dank, underground, neon-violet experimental sound laboratory of sorts, where two young men learned to play music with one another. I’m very excited to be performing next week with the wonderful Iranian musician Mohsen Namjoo whom the New York Times calls “Iran’s Bob Dylan”. We will be playing on February 8th in Washington DC and on the 10th at NYU. See www.mohsennamjoo.com for details! Hope I can still hang with the East Coast winter!
